Big Valley (7 Mountains) Vista
Waypoint ID: 518
This vista is a short but steep hike from a rest stop along Route 322. It provides a nice, although somewhat overgrown view of the valley and reservoir below. The actual overlook is denoted by benches and stone masonry walls, but when I was there in 2007 the growing saplings made it difficult to see well unless I stood on the walls themselves. Still, this is a nice short hike and the view makes the effort worthwhile.

Chickies Rock and nearby Breezyview Overlook both provide a nice view of the Susquehanna River. Both locations have a fenced off viewing area for visitors. Getting to Chickies Rock involves a short, easy hike from the parking area up a wide dirt trail. The view is very nice for the area, but overall I'd rate it as fair.

This overlook is a roadside pull off with a view of Raystown Lake. A short paved path leads from the parking area to the viewing area.
When I visited on 12/28/2007, it was a foggy morning so there was little to see, however saplings have grown up in front of the viewing
area and block much of the view. In the summer when they're full of leaves, they will obstruct the view even more. Because of this, this
overlook isn't very impressive. It's also not too high above the lake.

Located in the Clear Creek State Forest's Kennerdell tract, his overlook provides a nice view of the Allegheny River Valley and the town of Kennerdell. Because it's directly opposite an equally high mountain you can't see for miles, but what you can see is very pretty. In my opinion the best view is to the northeast, up the valley. A bench is located at the viewing area and an information board provides insight as to the history and physiography of the area.
